“Microfuidic Device for Investigation of Distance Dependent Interactions in Cell Biology” a patent of a faculty member of our department, Assoc. Prof. Devrim Pesen Okvur, was selected by Turkish Patent Institute to represent Turkey at the 43rd International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva in the medical category (Medicine-Surgery-Hygiene-Orthopedics). The invention was among the inventions awarded a gold medal by the international jury in this category. In addition, the invention was deemed worthy of a China Association of Inventions Special Prize and the First Institute of Researchers and Inventors – I.R. Iran Best Invention Prize. The purpose of the invention is to determine distance dependent interactions of cells with various factors. Another purpose of the invention is to test agents that can affect distance dependent interactions of cells with various factors.
