Educational Laboratories
IzTech-Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics (MBG) is pioneer of its kind in Turkey. Department conducts many basic scientific research projects and produces new technologies for life sciences at the same time. MBG adopts the idea of advancing biological research beyond traditional boundaries as a mission for humanity. In this regard, there are lots of projects underway concerning diverse areas such as molecular immunology, structural biology, animal genetics, and plant development.
MBG trains its graduate and undergraduate students accordingly. Undergraduate students at IzTech-MBG take 14 laboratory courses: biology I-II, chemistry I-II, physics I-II, organic chemistry I-II, genetics, cell biology, molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, and bioinformatics. MBG has state-of-the-art research instruments in educational laboratories at the service of students. Laboratory courses follow an up-to-date syllabus with experiments applicable in contemporary research laboratories.
